Our Restoration Plan

Our purpose is the restoration of the Coquille River Lighthouse

Our Restoration Plan

Current efforts are directed towards raising funds to begin a complete restoration of the Coquille River Lighthouse. At this time, the Lighthouse is in critical need of extensive repairs. It no longer has a lens, the interior spiral staircase to the top has decayed to the point it has been closed for many years and unsafe to use. All metal areas of the lighthouse are deeply corroded. There is significant damage to the plaster and paint. Moisture and humidity are causing increasing damage to the interior of the lighthouse as there is no electricity available for lighting, heating or a dehumidifier.

Since the need for electricity is critical, we have identified getting powerlines out to the location as the first phase of the restoration project. We are currently working to get bids on the cost of running powerlines from the Ballard’s State Park Horse Camp to the lighthouse.

You can help in the effort by making a donation to the Restoration!
